2910729 - MSSQL ODBC error when installing SAP Information Steward or during Data Services repository creation

Symptom

  • Your SQL Server instance listens on a port other than the default (1433)
  • Getting an error when trying to install SAP Information Steward or when creating Data services repository on the "Configure Information Steward repository database. Repository connection information" screen:   
    • The database validation failed. Please refer to this output file for error message: repoManBatch.txt
    • ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> to connect database <MSSQL host> failed with error: ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <MSSQL host> failed:
    • [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
    • [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
