2911379 - Hang or http 504 error when logging into BusinessObjects

Symptom

  • http 504 Gateway Time-out error while trying to login SAP BusinessObjects BusinessIntelligence Platform though a load balancer
  • Login hangs/very slow whilst attempting to login to the Central Management Console (CMC) or launchpad
  • Hang opening CMC->Servers->Server List
  • Error message in Central Management Server (CMS) logs (with Medium tracing enabled)
    CORBA type=IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0;minor=1330577422;completed=1;reason=Temporary failure in name resolution] CServer::ServerIsActive: caught CORBA_SystemException for server myservername.<anybiserver>
