2911437 - Signal 11 in showplan() - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • Running sp_showplan results in different stack traces.
  • One "infected with signal 11" error in the module showplan() caused the ASE server to shut down:

Current process (0x211f023a) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x00000000010fba60 (showplan+0x218), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x0x0000080007fd07fd)

  • The following message was reported along with the "infected with signal 11" error:

FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: signal 0 hit while handling a previously hit signal. The server cannot continue and will shut down.

  • The stack trace includes functions:

showplan       
show_plan      
LeRun         
LeEvals::LeEvRun
LeScalarOp::_LeOpNext
LeEmitNoSndOp::_LeOpNext
LePlanNext
exec_lava
s_execute

  Note: A complete stack trace is available under Attachments.

  • This error causes the ASE server to shut down:
     
        ueshutdown: exiting
