2914910 - How to Set up an Incremental Amount in Lease Contract

You have created a lease contract and wish the contract amount to increase e.g. yearly.

SAP Business By Design.

1. Go to Lease Contract Management work center.
2. Go to Lease Contract view.
3. Open the respective contract.

You would like to have the installment amount increased yearly.

In the lease contract there is currently no field that you could use to increment the amount by a fixed percentage. The increments to the installment amount are done by adding a new row with the respective amount and setting the validity for the year, as follows:

1. Go to Lease Contract Management work center.
2. Go to Lease Contract view.
3. Open the respective contract.
4. Go to Lease Objects tab.
5. Highlight the lease object and go to Conditions tab.

In this tab, you can add rows with the condition type and amount and specify the Valid From and Valid To for that entry. You can create different entries with different amounts specifying the respective validity period.

The conditions shall be editable if the contract has not been valuated. If the contract is valuated (Ready for Release status), you can cancel the valuation, via Actions button, for the conditions become editable again

If the lease contract is already Released, the conditions for the lease object cannot be changed. Hence, a new contract version needs to be created, which can be done via Edit -> Click New Contract Version button. The new contract version requires an Effective Date that must be less than or equal to today's date. The effective data of a new contract version cannot be in the future.

Once the new version is created, you are be able to add a new lease installment amount for the object with different dates. However, note that the validity of this new entry can only be valid from on or after the effective date set for the new contract version.
