Symptom

  • Trying to set an optimizer level to ase160sp04pl04 and receive the error:
    sp_configure 'optimizer level', 0, 'ase160sp04pl04'
    go

    Msg 5846, Level 16, State 2:
    Server 'ase16', Procedure 'sp_configure', Line 1344:
    Illegal value '0' specified for configuration option 'optimizer level'. The legal values are between '1' and '999999'.
    (return status = 1)
