2915232 - HANA timer fallback alert on AWS due to incorrect configuration

Symptom

  • You receive Alert 7 "Timer Fallback" on your SAP HANA system - HANA timer uses fallback to system timer;
  • Your SAP HANA system is running on AWS;
  • The following entry is observed in the service trace:
    e Basis            Timer.cpp(00899) : Usage of system timer is forced because the clocksource file '/sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource' has no 'tsc' clocksource. The file contents: xen
