How email bounce scenario works in Cloud for Customer (C4C)
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Resolution
- When an email is sent to a wrong or non-existing email address, the email is bounced immediately.
- When an email cannot be sent to the recipient because the recipient mail server is not reachable or is giving a 4XX error, our mail infrastructure configuration does attempt to send the mail every one hour for a maximum of 3 days(72 hours) or 100 retry attempts, after which a hard bounce mail will be sent if the email still cannot be relayed to the recipient address.
