2917451 - SSL enabled ASE server hangs - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE is unresponsive / hangs
  • SSL connection threads hang in LOGIN_PROCESS
  • ASE may show 100% or very high CPU utilization and prevent further connections
  • SPIDs within ASE show "Maintenance Token" status
  • Messages may be seen in the ASE errorlogs at the time of the failure:

    ksmask__rpacket: Invalid tdslength value XXXX, kpid: XXX
    originating node of previous invalid TDS packet: XX.XX.XX.XX port : 5000
    ssl_server_handshake: vsn 43 kpid XXXX FAILED sslerr

    • Also applies to SAP IQ or SAP Replication Server (SRS)
  • SSL listen port is sconfigured
