2917775 - SUM error in phase PREP_PRE_CHECK/SPAMCHK_INI fails in RFC function 'FUNCTION_EXISTS'

Symptom

While upgrading system using Software Update Manager (SUM), phase PREP_PRE_CHECK/SPAMCHK_INI fails with the following error:

2 ETQ232 RFC Login succeeded 4 ETQ399 cannot determine SPAM version - function module OCS_API_GET_SPAM_VERSION may not exist 
1EETQ399 Last error code set is: RFC function 'FUNCTION_EXISTS' does not have parameter 'FUNCNAME' 
1EETQ204 Upgrade phase "SPAMCHK_INI" aborted with severe errors
  • OCS_API_GET_SPAM_VERSION exists in the system.
  • In SE37 when you Test/Execute the FUNCTION_EXISTS function module, there is no Import Parameter section.
