2918302 - Fiori app Trial Balance Comparison report showing * for transaction currency value.

Symptom

  1. The fields Amount, Comparison Amount and Difference Amount in Transaction Currency is populated with value  *  in the App Trial Balance Comparison.
  2. The fields Amount, Comparison Amount and Difference Amount in Transaction Currency is populated with value  *  when excel report is extracted fom the App Trial Balance Comparison.

  • Financial Accounting (FI) 
  • SAP S/4HANA Finance
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to App Trial Balance comparison.
  2. Provide the mandatory fields in Prompt.
  3. Click on OK.

Cause

It is not possible to summarize the amount when multiple currency postings are done to the G/L Account. This is the standard behavior of multidimensional grid reporting.

Resolution

As a work around follow these steps below:

  1. Go to the App Trial Balance Comparison.
  2. Choose field: Transaction Currency from the Dimensions.
  3. Add it to the Columns.
  4. App Trial Balance Comparison will display the Amount, Comparison Amount and Difference Amount in respective transaction currency.

Note: The field value for total amount in transaction currency will be populated with * because, summarization is not possible in case of multiple transaction currencies.
