Symptom
The Analytical View in the Sales Quote OWL does not work as expected. Filters from the OWL are not taken into consideration in the Analytical View results.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the New Business work center.
- Select the Sales Quotes view.
- In the drop-down list select All Quotes.
- Select the Advanced Filter.
- Enter Sales Unit XYZ (XYZ represents the Sales Unit ID).
- Select Group By Account.
XX amount of records are displayed (XX represents the number of records).
- Click on the Analytical View icon
- Select Aggregate By Total and Analysis Method Sum
- Change to Bar Chart
You can see that All Sales Quotes are displayed and not only XX you selected according to the filter.
Cause
The underlying ECO of the UI model is implemented (not directly mapped to a Business Object). The query is as well implemented. The OWL itself then provides data for the list.
However, there is no mapping between the fields in the query and in the actual data. That means the analytical query does not know to which field to apply the selection in the mapping.
This is a technical limitation and therefore the sceanrio is currently not supported.
Resolution
This scenario is not supported.
