Symptom
An employee has requested X days of vacations (where X represents half day value), however there are no postings recorded on his Time Account.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Time Administration work center
- Select the Employees view
- Highlight the employee and select the Edit button
- Go to the Employee Times tab
- Highlight the vacation period and go to the Account Posting tab
- Result: You can see that no postings are recorded on the time account
Cause
This may be caused by the type of daily work schedule. You should verify which daily work schedule is used by the employee. Please note, that standard predelivered work schedules work differently.
Example:
An employee can use for instance the standard predelivered daily work schedule 9H which has the half day aspect set in the daily model setup. However the standard predelivered 5H daily work schedule does not have this aspect set.
Resolution
- Go to the Time Administration work center
- Select Employees subview
- Find the employee ID
- Click on Edit
- Go to the Time Profile tab
- Navigate to the Work Schedule Tab
- In the field Handle Holidays As select ‘Holiday is a Paid Day Off’ from the dropdown list
Once it is selected, the half day value of the daily work schedule will be assigned to the half day holidays for the employee. This works in conjunction with the setting of ‘Deviation on Half day off’ on the daily work schedule.
