2919480 - Error "The ASSERT condition was violated (conversion object Z_PRODUCT_XXX) " is displayed when migrating "Product" object

Symptom

During the migration of Products, the below errors are encountered:

  • System error occurs when calling function module in target system - DMC_RT_MSG 231. 
  • The ASSERT condition was violated. (conversion object Z_PRODUCT_XXX) - DMC_RT_MSG 41. 

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open App "Manage your solution".
  2. Choose option "Migrate your Data".
  3. Go to the relevant migration project.
  4. Select the migration object Product.
  5. Upload the migration template and click activate.
  6. Click Start transfer.
  7. Perform the validation phase followed by the convert value step.
  8. Start Import data followed by simulation phase.
  9. Click on Import data.

Cause

Reserved places for the number range of the product type has been used up.

Resolution

Extend the number range of the product type used in the migration template with the SSCUI 102282 - Define Number Ranges for Each Material Type.
