2920511 - 'Price change interval YYYY-MM , YYYY-MM has closed periods in company ABC setofbks DEF' Error Editing Material Cost

Unable to edit the cost of the material due to the error:

'Price change interval YYYY-MM , YYYY-MM has closed periods in company ABC setofbks DEF'

YYYY-MM represents accounting period.

ABC represents Company ID (Company Name).

DEF represents Set of Books ID.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Product Data work center.
2. View Materials and Select the Material ID GHI (GHI represents material ID) and click Edit.
3. View All and navigate to Valuation tab.
4. Edit Cost and enter the input materials like Cost, Valid From and click OK.
5. Error is displayed: 'Price change interval  YYYY-MM , YYYY-MM has closed periods in company ABC setofbks DEF'

For those materials that don't have stock the material cost and validity could be changed, however, for materials which still have stock during the mentioned periods, the stock has to be revaluated with new cost, and the revaluation will create journal entry in the system. Currently all those periods are closed for posting.

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Common Tasks -> Open ad Close Periods view.
3. Select the periods in question and change those periods statuses to 1- Not Blocked and save it.

After the period status is changed, changes can be made to the material unit costs.
