2920650 - Employee Not Visible in Resource Search but Available in Resource Profile in SAP Business ByDesign

Symptom

An employee is visible in the Resource Profile view but is not found in the Resource Search view in the Resource Management work center.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Resource Management work center
  2. Open Resource Profiles view
  3. Search for the employee and confirm that the employee is visible
  4. Open Resource Search view
  5. Search for the same employee and confirm that no results are found

Cause

This is expected system behavior, where the Resource Search view shows only relevant resources and employees assigned to an excluded job do not appear in the search results.

 

Resolution

To make the employee visible in Resource Search, ensure the assigned job is included in relevant resources:

  1. Go to Resource Management work center
  2. Navigate to Common Tasks
  3. Select Determine Relevant Resources
  4. Find the job assigned to the employee
  5. Ensure the job is not excluded
  6. Save the changes

After this, the employee will appear in Resource Search.
