2923250 - SUM DMO: Start daemon process 'REPLAY_ABAP_CRR' failed

Symptom

  • While running Software Update Manager (SUM) with Database Migration Option (DMO) in phase MAIN_DTTRANS/DOWNCONF_DTTRANS, the following error was reported: 

    *** FATAL ERROR: Expected status 'RUNNING' for daemon 'REPLAY_ABAP_CRR' but received status 'ABORTED'.

  • Detailed error in logfile:

    /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/log/RRC_REPLICATERRC.LOG

    4 ETQ399 Set environment for shadow connect:
    4 ETQ380 computing toolpath for request "TP_CALL_EXE".
    4 ETQ381 request "TP_CALL_EXE" means "call tp from DIR_PUT/exe"
    4 ETQ382 translates to group "TOOL_GROUP_EXE"
    4 ETQ399 Requirement for tp maps to 'exe'
    4 ETQ383 translates to path "/usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/exe"

    3 ETQ399 Start daemon process 'REPLAY_ABAP_CRR'.

  • The temporary instance 02 cannot be reached when attempting to logon.
