2923392 - Save Failed When Attempting to Remove Forecasting Group From Product

You are unable to remove the forecasting group from the product. An error occurred. Error: Save failed.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio work center
2. Click on Products view
3. Select All Products
4. Search for the relevant product
5. Click on Edit
6. Click on View All
7. Select Planning Tab
8. Remove the forecasting group
9. Click on Save

This issue occurs because forecasting group is an association of the product category hierarchy. It treats forecasting group as a mandatory field for that instance. For this reason, you see product category ID in the change log instead of forecasting group as the attribute name.

As of now there is a limitation in the system where we only allow a change of the forecasting group but not a deletion. We can remove the forecasting group from the backend.
