2923584 - Hana Consistency Check: metadata version changed while running checks

Symptom

  • In SAP Hana or S/4HANA you run the Consistency Checks as per note 2116157 FAQ: SAP HANA Consistency Checks and Corruptions
  • You use the command CALL CHECK_TABLE_CONSISTENCY('CHECK', NULL, NULL);
  • This results in an error message similar to:

    _SYS_STATISTICS ; STATISTICS_EMAIL_PROCESSING ; 50
    Check skipped: metadata version changed while running checks 22144 -> 22148

  • If you run the Consistency Check specially on this table e.g. with command CALL "CHECK_TABLE_CONSISTENCY"( 'CHECK', '_SYS_STATISTICS', 'STATISTICS_EMAIL_PROCESSING'), there is no error returned
  • If you execute query "HANA_SQL_ExecutedStatements" from note 1969700 SQL Statement Collection for SAP HANA, you will find an entry occuring every 5 minutes similar to "truncate table \"_SYS_STATISTICS\".\"STATISTICS_EMAIL_PROCESSING\"
