2926529 - How to dump a database to remote host using stripes - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Remote dump database from ASE 15.7 to ASE 16.0
  • Remote dump works fine when striping is not used
  • Local dump works fine with striping
  • Remote dump fails with striping with error:

Backup Server: 4.141.2.40: [11] The 'CreateFile' call failed for database/archive device while working on stripe device '<Path:\<filename>' with error number 21 (Cannot get operating system error tex). Refer to your operating system documentation for further details.
D01: Attempting write through I/O for device '<Path>:\<filename>'
D01: Attempting non buffered I/O for device '<Path>:\<filename>'
Backup Server: 5.7.2.13: RPC ('bs_end_dump') execution failed.

  • dump command used is 

dump database <dbname> to  '<Path>:\<filename>'
stripe on  '<Path>:\<filename>'
at <remote_backservername>
with compression=101
go
