2926817 - Potential Rating Difference Between UI and Import - Employee Profile

Symptom

In People Profile, Potential Ratings manually selected via UI is different than the Ratings imported via Imported Extended User Information.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP Internal Systems, sample data, or Demo Systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Potential Portlet. This will be the sysOverallPotential portlet.
  2. Add an entry and select a Rating. Notice the Rating selected follows the picklist value.
  3. Do an import via Admin Center > Import Extended User Information. Sample template below.

  4. Go back to the Potential Portlet and notice the Rating is different.

Cause

Ratings selected via UI and via Import are stored in two different tables in the backend.

Resolution

By design, the table for UI derives its values from the Matrix Grid Rating Scales.

On the other hand, the table for UI is designed to support double values, for example 1 and 1.5. In this same sense, when a value is imported, for example 1, it will become 1.0.
