2927342 - Receiving message "Can't create registry value" when attempting to register ODBC Driver

Symptom

  • You are attempting to register the ODBC driver using command: odbcreg <ODBC_driver_name> -i -p <path_to_driver> -d <name_of_odbc_lib>
    (Example: odbcreg MaxDB -i -p D:\sapdb\SDB\db\pgm\ -d sdbodbcw.dll)
  • You receive the message "Can't create registry value" and the ODBC drvier is not registered.

    Please note the current SAP Content Server release is 7.53 and this version should be used for new installations and upgrades, more details in note 719971 - SAP Content Server release strategy and note 2786364 - SAP Content Server and Cache Server 7.5 (and higher)
