2928403 - During SPS update phase XPRAS_AIMMRG runs for a long time

Symptom

  • During an SPS update of a system running on SAP Hana Database, the update hangs in phase XPRAS_AIMMRG
  • The issue can also happen when upgrading SAP S4/HANA e.g. from 1809 to 1909 where errors may occur similar to below: 
  • Phase: XPRAS_AIMMRG XPRA ERRORS "SHDB PFW exception: Dispatcher Timeout: 'Start Collector' waited 900 sec for free WP"
  • In the dev_disp trace entries similar to below can be found:
    *** WARNING => DpResourcesOk: Many (warn limit exceeded) EG Memory (95.091 %) allocate
    DpSendLoadInfo: Resources with high load
