2928413 - PMW fails with error "Unable to connect...null Communication error...(FWM 01009)"

Symptom

  • While creating a promotion job, you can connect to CMS port (6400 by default) via the CMC > Promotion Management without issues.
  • However, from CMC > Promotion Management you cannot connect to other source servers.
  • Similarly, using Promotion Management Wizard (PMW) returns "Unable to connect...null Communication error...(FWM01009)"  when trying to login to the local system as localhost or FQDN (as shown below).

  • A telnet on the localhost 6400 works.
