2928802 - Workflow page does not respect order pre defined for the object

Symptom

You configured one order for a MDF object but when triggering a workflow the order is not respected in the workflow approval page.

<span style="color: red;"> Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Configure Object Definition
  2. Configure an order of fields for any MDF object
  3. Configure a workflow for changes in this object
  4. Trigger the workflow
  5. You can check in the workflow approval page that the order is different from the order in configure object definition

Cause

You have conditional fields configured for this object.

Resolution

This is expected system behavior. In case you have conditional fields configured the workflow will show the child fields near the parent field and will not follow the order speficied in the object definition.
