Symptom

SAP ASE reports the following error when trying to start:

Configuration Error: Configuration file, '$SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/<servername>.cfg', does not exist.

    • Note: for ASE for Business Suite systems, the file name is <SID>.cfg
