Symptom
When we navigate to any user's "Assigned Items" tab we see the below message depending on the administrator's preference.
- "The Required Date is in Coordinated Universal Time timezone, Assignment Date is in Coordinated Universal Time timezone and Completion/Failure Date is in India Standard Time timezone. Please reload user entity to view updated preferences for timezones if any".
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Learning Administration >
- People >
- Users >
- Open any user record >
- Go to the "Assigned Items" tab >
- Notice the banner with the message.
Resolution
This message will be displayed all the time. This is just an indication about the displayed timezone of the items which are assigned. It mentions the administrator to reload the user entity to see the updated date and time if there were any assignments made.
The Required Date is shown in the user preference timezone, the Assignment Date is shown in Database Timezone, and the Completion/Failure date is shown in the administrator's preference timezone.
To check the user's preference:
- Navigate to Learning Administration >
- People >
- Users >
- Open any user record >
- Go to the "Preferences" tab.
To check on the administrator's preference:
- Navigate to Learning Administration >
- In the main menu, access the Preferences section.
The only way to change the information in this banner is to change the preferences or to change a setting that will display the Required Date based off the administrator's timezone.
- Go to Learning Administration >
- System Administration >
- Configuration >
- System Configuration >
- Edit the LMS_ADMIN configuration file >
- Change learningPlanDisplayInLearnerTimezone to false.
- By default this setting is set to true.
