Symptom
When performing the PREP_INSTALL/SHDUNINST_DB_PREP Phase in the Software Update Manager Tool - SUM, an error is encountered:
"The hdbsql connection is not possible. Check if the database is online"
- SUMLOG > HDBOPOUT.cmd log file displays the following error message:
EXECUTING F:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\hdbclient\hdbsql.EXE -o E:\SUM\SUM\abap\log\HDBOPSQL.OUT -U UPGSHDKEY "SELECT * FROM DUMMY"
* -10709: Connection failed (RTE:[89006] System call 'connect' failed, rc=10061:No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (worker*_hostname_ip_address:port))
SAPup> Process with PID 5320 terminated with status -10709 at 20200126102307!
- A check of the hdbuserstore list displays the subordinate* node host as the KEY for the shadow instance - UPGSHDKEY

- The SUM tool is trying to connect to SAP HANA worker* node <hostname_ip:port> in the ENV section of the KEY UPGSHDKEY , instead of the coordinator* node <hostname_ip:port>
