How to update candidate's start date during Onboarding?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Resolution

Scenario 1: How to update the candidates start date in RCM after ONB initiation

Answer: Cancel the existing onboarding process. Update the hire date in RCM and reinitiate the onboarding process for the candidate

Scenario 2: How to update the candidates start date if candidate is in New Hire Data Review

Answer: Go to the Onboarding Dashboard > Start New Hire Data Review > Change Start Date > Submit New Hire Data Review > Restart the Onboarding Process
This will ensure that the backend tables are updated with the new start date.

Scenario 3: How to update the candidates start date if candidate is in/after Manage Pending Hire

Answer: 

  1. Go to Admin Center >>  Onboarding General Settings.
  2. Enable the Sync Employee Central Updates to Start Date and Hiring Manager toggle.
  3. Changes to an employee's start date or hiring manager that are made from Employee Central using the Manage Pending Hires tool or the Start Date Correction tool, and which are made after the manage pending hires step is completed, automatically show up in Onboarding.

Scenario 4: Is there a way to change the start date on documents/forms after they are signed?

Answer: It is not possible to change it afterwards, in order to update candidate's start date in this scenario, it will be necessary to restart the Onboarding activity, so the signature step can be triggered again with the updated date.
