2935264 - Grey metrics for MSSQL metrics in System Monitoring

Symptom

You are working with SAP Solution Manager 7.2, monitoring Database MSSQL and notice that following metrics are reporting grey status:

  • MSSQL Client software status
  • MSSQL Database Status
  • MSSQL Server Software Status

You can see following information from relevant logs:

e2emai.log:

Caused by: com.sap.smd.agent.plugin.connectors.webservice.WebServiceInvocationException: Client received SOAP Fault from server: Database not found Please see the server log to find more detail regarding exact cause of the failure.

dev_sapdbctrl:

The database <SID> does not exist.
GetDatabaseStatus from library libsapdbmssctrl.dll failed with error: 'Database not found' (no error message)
*** ERROR => 'Get database status' failed: Database not found [sapdbctrl.cp 3905]
