Symptom
You have received a Stock Transfer Delivery which you have confirmed with a Partial quantity. Now you want to receive the outstanding Quantity. However, when you go to the Delivery Notification view of the Inbound Delivery work center and search for the Stock Transfer Delivery Notification, you are not able to receive the outstanding Quantity. Post Goods Receipt or create a Warehouse request buttons are all deactivated.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Outbound Logistics work center.
- Go to the Outbound Deliveries view.
- Find and select the relevant Outbound Delivery.
- It can be observed that the Quantity of the Product delivered is YYY (YYY represent the Total Delivery quantity).
- Click the Edit button.
- Go to the Document Flow tab.
- Open the respective Inbound Delivery Notification.
- Go to the Items tab.
- You can see that the Delivery Notification Quantity for the relevant Material is also YYY.
- Open the corresponding Stock Transfer Delivery.
- You can as well see that the Delivery Notification Quantity is YYY, but the the fulfilled Quantity is XXX.
- Go to the Inbound Logistics work center.
- Go to the Inbound Delivery Notifications view.
- Find and select the above Inbound Delivery Notification.
- You can see the Post Goods Receipt or Create Warehouse Request buttons are deactivated.
- Hence, it is not possible to post the outstanding Quantity and this remains In-Transit.
Cause
You have created Stock Transfer Delivery against the Inbound Delivery Notification and have not confirmed the full Quantity. Once you create and release the Stock Transfer Delivery, the system marks the Delivery as Finished irrespective if the Quantity is only partially received. This means the inbound is finished automatically with a confirmed quantity, and you cannot post further Goods receipt against the Stock Transfer Delivery Notification. This is currently the way the system works.
Resolution
As the Delivery is Finished and Released, there is no possibility to receive the Quantity In-Transit. However, there are the options:
- To perform an Inventory Adjustment at the Sender (reduce) and Receiver site (increase).
- Perform Adjustment of the In-Transit quantity to zero at the Sender Site.
- Undo Release of the Stock Transfer Delivery and perform an Adjustment Confirmation to include the outstanding Quantity to the Stock Transfer Delivery.
Please proceed as follows to include the outstanding quantity to the existing Inbound Delivery:
- Go to the Inbound Logistics work center.
- Select the Inbound Delivery view.
- Search for the Inbound delivery ID, which you want to change.
- Select the Inbound delivery and choose the button Undo Release
- Now go to the Monitoring view and to the By Warehouse Order sub-view.
- Open Advanced Filter.
- Enter the Inbound delivery ID in the field Delivery ID and choose the Go button.
- Select the Warehouse Order and choose the Edit button.
- In the Warehouse Order screen, click the Adjustment Confirmation button.
- In the Adjustment Confirmation screen, choose Enable Entry button.
- In the Quantity Difference field enter the fulfilled Quantity e.g. since you have fulfilled a quantity XXX ea, then enter difference between YYY and XXX so that Fulfilled Quantity will be increased to YYY ea.
- Choose Save button.
- Go back to Inbound Delivery view and search for the Inbound delivery ID.
- Select the searched Inbound delivery and choose the Release button and save your changes.
YYY represents the Quantity sent in the Outbound Delivery
XXX represents the Partial Quantity delivered.
