Symptom
Posting to an asset using the Post-Capitalization (ABNAN) app raises error AA566 "The date entered is not in a closed fiscal year".
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Reproducing the Issue
- Enter Post-Capitalization (ABNAN) app.
- Enter the parameters for the posting.
- Simulating or posting raises the error.
Cause
Post-capitalization represents subsequent corrections to the acquisition and production costs (APC) of a fixed asset. An example of when you need this type of correction is if you neglected to add expenditures and costs linked with the acquisition or assembly of an asset to its APC in a past fiscal year. The Posting Date should be in the lowest open fiscal year.
Resolution
Change the "Posting Date" to a date in the lowest open fiscal year.
If after entering the correct "Posting Date" error AAPO012 "Fiscal year &2 is incorrect for post-capitalization of asset &1" is raised, then you have two fiscal years open and the posting must be in the earlier year, e.g. if fiscal years 2019 and 2020 are open, then the posting must have a "Posting date" in fiscal year 2019, the earlier fiscal year.
