2935977 - Error Message When Trying To Update Position Criticality / key position

When trying to update the Position Criticality/key position via the Succession Org Chart or Position Tile View, you receive the following system message; "You do not have necessary permission to perform the selected task".

1. Go to the Succession Org Chart or Position Tile View and select a Position.
   
   
2. Attempt to update the Position Criticality field.
   
   
   
   
3. You receive a system warning message "You do not have necessary permission to perform the selected task".
   
   

A common root cause of this error message is that there are fields in your Position Object Definition which marked as required/mandatory which are null (blank) for this specific Position. You can verify if a field is set as required/mandatory by checking if it has a red asterisk (*) beside the field name.

Another possible route cause may be due to a rule which you have configured in the Position Object is triggering a warning message. To identify the root cause of this, try manually updating the Position Criticality through 'Manage Data' or 'Manage Position' and check the warning message which is generated. 

Note: This only applies to systems which are using the MDF Position Nomination Method.

Please ensure all required/mandatory fields contain appropriate data and no rule is triggering a warning message.
