Symptom
You are trying to do a Post Goods Receipt against an Inbound Delivery Notification which contains Line Items with Identified Stock. When you try to Add Sub-Items in the 'Create Inbound Delivery and Goods Receipt' screen, and choose the 'Add sub-item' button, the system issues a message informing you that the actual quantity is missing.
If you now enter the Actual Quantity and then proceed to click on 'Add Sub-Item' again, the system issues another message informing you that the value for the Identified Stock is missing.
Prior to the Upgrade to 2005 Release, you do not need to fill in the Actual quantity as well as the Identified stock fields if you are splitting the Line Items. Now you want to understand why the system is behaving this way after the Upgrade.

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Inbound Logistics work center.
- Go to the Purchase Orders view.
- Find and select the relevant Purchase Order.
- Click the Post Goods Receipt button.
- In the new window (Create Inbound Delivery and Goods Receipt), select the relevant Line Item, and click on the Add Sub-Item button.
- The system returns the error message: Actual quantity missing; enter actual quantity.
- Enter the Actual Quantity, and the system returns the error "Value for identified stock missing".
- If you proceed to click the Add Sub-Item button, the system returns the messages:
- Action failed.
- -----> Value for identified stock missing.
- -----> Value for identified stock missing.
- Value for identified stock missing.
- You expect to be able to split the Line Items without the system checking for Actual Quantity and Identified Stock ID.
Cause
We introduced the change with the 2005 release to establish parity between the Task Confirmation and the Post Goods Receipt processes.
If you notice, in the Task Confirmation UI, it is mandatory that you enter the Quantity, the Logistics Area and the Identified Stock ID (for products with mandatory identified stock profile) before you can split the Line Item.
In the Post Goods Receipt screen, along with this condition, we enable you to edit the details you enter originally.
Further, for your reference, we introduced this change also due to legal requirements in India.
Resolution
Henceforth, this is the expected system behaviour.
