2936569 - Error Message: Istock type for product specification ABC not valid or does not exist

In project - materials tab, you are adding a material from stock but you are not able to select any product specification for it due to error message:

Istock type for product specification ABC not valid or does not exist. (ABC represents the product specification ID)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Project Management work center
2. Go to Project view
3. Find the project and click Edit
4. Go to Project Planning tab, Materials subtab
5. Add Row
6. Enter the material XYZ (XYZ represents the material ID), select From Stock indicator, the Product Specification column will be available
7. Select the product specification ABC from the value help, enter

You can see the above error message.

Although you have released product specification for material XYZ, in the material master data, you haven't defined the identified stock type for it.

Please maintain an identifided stock type for the product as follows:

1. Open the master data of material XYZ
2. Go to General tab
3. Maintain the Identified Stock Type field. Select type Optional Specific Stock or Mandatory Specified Stock.

The Product Specification Enabled indicator will automatically checked when you select type Optional Specific Stock or Mandatory Specified Stock.

After the change saved, you will be able to select product specification for material XYZ in project.
