2937846 - During Backup versioning and user dbspace usage grow - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • Run BACKUP DATABASE command
  • In the meantime, monitor "Main IQ Blocks Used" with sp_iqstatus, or monitor "Usage" with sp_iqdbspace
  • "Main IQ Blocks Used" and "Usage" are growing over time and could reach a high usage, especially when there are concurrent operations modifying data
  • After backup finishes, "Main IQ Blocks Used" decreases
  • BACKUP could fail with "Out of space error" if there are many concurrent operations creating large versions
