2939640 - Service not found in the drop down in Work tab of Project task

You could not find the service in the dropdown/value help

 or

 You received error:

"Service product XXX is not valid. Only time-based service products are allowed. Maintain quantity conversions in time-based units such as hour in the service product master data."

where XXX is product ID

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Project management work center
2. Go to Project view
3. Search and open respective Project
4. Go to Project plan tab
5. Select respective Project task
6. Go to Work tab
7. Go to value help of Service field
8. You don't find respective Service

 or

when you forcefully enter the service and click on enter button you shall get the above mentioned error

Only time-based service products are allowed in project.

So either maintain quantity conversions in time-based units such as hour or maintain Base UOM in time-based units such as hour in the service product master data.
