2939955 - Error appears " Serial Number xxx for Product cannot be issued" when trying to create and release Third-Party Delivery Notification

While trying to create Third-Party Delivery Notification from Third-Party Purchase Order DEF with Serial Number xxx, Product KLM, click on Release button, following error appears:

Serial Number xxx for Product cannot be issued.

*xxx refers to serial Number, KLM refers to Product ID, DEF refers to Purchase Order ID

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Third-Party Order Fulfillment Work Center.
2. Go to Third-Party Purchase Orders View.
3. Search for DEF.
4. Select New Third-party Delivery Notification.
5. Enter mandatory fields like Delivery Notification id, Serial Number.
6. Maintain Serial Number as "xxx".
7. Click on Release.
8. Then above error appears.

This is a Valid error, as Serial Number "xxx", Tagged Inventory Status is "Issued to Customer" which means the current serial number has already been issued to Customer and no longer exist in warehouse.

As SerialNumber profile is set as "Mandatory on all Logistics and Production Processes" in Product Master and Tagged Inventory Status is "Issued to Customer" for a Serial Number.This is the expected behaviour.
