2940430 - DC/TRS cannot connect to the mainframe (gethostbyaddr, error num 1)

Symptom

  • Customer trying to connect to DC/TRS.
  • Server.log shows:
    LogTRS      06/22/2020 13:17:06.077738    TRSTCP      NULL  NULL      NULL  #34280 Host transaction could not be started. transaction SYBM, host name xx.xx.xx.xxx, port 3024.
    LogTRS      06/22/2020 13:17:06.077761    TRSTCP      NULL  NULL      NULL  #34334 func call sybtcp_connect: gethostbyaddr, error num 1, tranaction SYBM, region name XXXX, host name XX.XX.XX.XXXX, port num 3024
    LogTRS      06/22/2020 13:17:06.077778    D10SERV4    6     XXXXXXX     isql  #34313 An error occurred on the socket between the TRS and the CICS transaction program.  See error log.
