Symptom

After table definition changes to a remote table(SDA), refreshing the virtual table by running the SQL statement 'ALTER VIRTUAL TABLE ..... REFRESH DEFINITION', results in the following error:
 
"Could not execute 'ALTER VIRTUAL TABLE "SAPBW"."<tablename>" REFRESH DEFINITION' in 50.070 seconds . SAP DBTech JDBC: [257]: sql syntax error: incorrect syntax near "/": line 1 col 44 (at pos 44) "
