2940952 - Tomcat doesn't start after upgrade to BI 4.2 SP08 or 4.3

Symptom

  • After upgrade to 4.2 SP08 or 4.3, Tomcat does not start. It will switch to running state, then move to stopped state shortly afterwards
  • In the stderr.log, the following error is seen:
    java.lang.VerifyError: (class: org/apache/catalina/startup/CatalinaBaseConfigurationSource, method: getServerXml, signature: ()Lorg/apache/tomcat/util/file/ConfigurationSource$Resource;, offset: 24) Illegal type 2048 in constant pool
