2940987 - Messages failing with error "TransportServlet is not ready to process Messages"

When processing some SOAP messages, you can see that the messages are failing with the following error:

Error during soap processing: javax.servlet.ServletException: TransportServlet(Version $Id: //tc/xpi.adapters/NW750EXT_<SP version>_REL/src/_soap_application_web_module/webm/api/com/sap/aii/adapter/soap/web/MessageServlet.java\#1 $) is not ready to process Messages#

When checking the default traces, you can also see the following error:
