Symptom

  • What is the appropriate setup for API access?
  • How to create the API account necessary to generate a token.

Resolution

Before a token can be generated using an API Client, an account in Super Admin must be created.

  1. Log in to Super Admin
  2. Click on Service Logins
  3. Click on Service Login
  4. Enter a name and a password for the account.
  5. For Login Set select ODataService
  6. Click on Create button to finish creating the account.

Note: With these credentials you will be able to authenticate with the API account using a similar link for the data center being used, i.e.

https://onboardingXpreview.sapsf.com/ONB/odata/v2/ODataAuthentication

Where Xpreview, in the link above, represents the Data Center being used
