Symptom

How to use the "Approve/Reject Blocking - Business Partner" Fiori App

Environment

  • SAP S/4HANA 
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Assign the "BUP102 Approval for Block" role to a Business Partner.
  2. Block the Business Partner in the "Block Master Data - Business Partner" app.
  3. Try to Approve or Reject the block in the "Approve/Reject Blocking - Business Partner" Fiori App.
  4. The system raises the error "You are not authorized to request a block".

Cause

The app follows the four eyes principal and requires that a second authorised user to approve the block. The same user who requested the block cannot be the one to approve it.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that you are assigned the SAP_BR_DATA_PRIVACY_SPECIALIST Data Privacy Specialist.
  2. A second authorised user must be the one to approve/reject the block in the "Approve/Reject Blocking - Business Partner"
