2943068 - What information is sent via SAML for Open Content Network vendors?

Symptom

  • When integrating with an Open Content Network vendor, what information is passed through SAML?
  • Is it possible to send more information through the SAML SSO authentication for Open Content Network (OCN) vendors?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Resolution

Either the userId (default) or the email address of the user is passed through the SAML response when authenticating on the Open Content Network vendor. There are no other attributes that are sent via the SAML response.

If any data such as user first name, last name, etc. is being housed on the OCN vendor side, this information was passed through other means such as manual export or through other APIs.

Currently, if there is a need to pass other information to the vendor, please check either Integration Center or the vendor can use existing APIs to pull more information. An enhancement request can also be raised as per 2909180
