You are trying to post the Manual Journal Entry Voucher for Material and you are getting an error - Combination of inventory account AAA and material BCD not valid. Materials valuated at standard cost cannot be written up or down. Select a price difference account for such materials instead.

AAA means the G/L Account.

BCD means the Material ID.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Click New Journal Entry Voucher.
3. Select the Journal Entry type 00087 - Manual Entry for Materials.
4. Select the Screen Variant 630 - Manual Write-Up/Write-Down for Materials.
5. Enter the data and click Simulate.
6. You can see an error - Combination of inventory account AAA and material BCD not valid. Materials valuated at standard cost cannot be written up or down. Select a price difference account for such materials instead.

The material you have chosen has a Perpetual Cost Method as 'Standard'. The inventory cost cannot be changed by adjusting through Manual Journal Entry Voucher. This is a standard system behavior.

You must select the material which has Perpetual Cost Method as 'Moving average'. The moving average cost is adjusted automatically based on the charge or credit.
