2944060 - Error 590 followed by Error 724 "Function 'memalloc' was passed an illegal size value" or Error 709 - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • ASE errorlog reports Error 724 with a stack trace:

Error: 724, Severity: 20, State: 1
Internal Error: Function 'memalloc' was passed an illegal size value (-2147483634).

  • The stack trace includes functions:

cpymemalloc
cpynodes
treecpy_rg
range*CgLavaUtils::CgCopyRange

  Note: A sample of a complete stack trace is available under Attachments.

  • The stack trace shows that the previous reported error was Error 590:

lasterror = 724 preverror = 590 transtate = 0

  • The statement cache is enabled in ASE.
