2944333 - Material with Incorrect Item Group Type NORM Instead of KIT

You have noticed a sales kit with incorrect item group type NORM instead of KIT has been migrated, which makes invoicing impossible. When you try to change the item group, you notice it cannot be changed, neither in the UI nor using migration tool or Mass Data Maintenance.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Access the Materials work center view.
3. Search for the relevant material ID.
4. Click Edit.
5. Go to Sales tab.
6. Item Group is maintained as NORM and is grayed out and cannot be changed to KIT.

To avoid such issues, development will change the migration logic in future releases.

Until the system change is in place, create an SAP Support Incident and provide a list with the affected IDs and the permission for backend correction. Support will perform a change of the item group to KIT in the backend.
