2944806 - Java system import fails during System Copy - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

  • You are doing a system copy of your PO Netweaver server running on SAP ASE database.
  • The Import phase is failing with below error in sapinst.log file:

  • The jmigmon.java.log file doesn't report relevant information about errors.
  • Checking the ASE error log ($SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/install/<SID>.log) we can see error message 1204 reported at the same datetime and a lot of times after:

00:0011:00000:00010:YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.ms server Error: 1204, Severity: 17, State: 1 occurred for User ''. Client IP address is 'Unknown'.

00:0011:00000:00010:YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.ms server ASE has run out of LOCKS. Re-run your command when there are fewer active users, or contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role to reconfigure ASE with more LOCKS.
