Symptom
- In rare cases, ASE command "DUMP TRANSACTION" hangs on AIX.
- Subsequent attempts for further "DUMP TRANSACTION" command will also hang.
- The offending ASE task cannot be killed - a reboot of the ASE server is necessary to clear the situation.
- The stacktrace of the hung ASE task (spid) is:
Start dbcc stacktrace...
kpsuspend.fdpr.chunk.3+0xc()
upsleepgeneric+0x2c8()
uppause+0x154()
dmpx__get_seqnum.fdpr.chunk.1+0x90()
dpdb_handle installed by the following function:-]
dmpx_truncatemain+0x300()
dmpxact+0x88()
- In the output of the OS command procstack for the ASE dataserver process you will find a thread in call stack similar to the one below:
_p_sigtimedwait(??, ??, ??) + 0x14c
sigtimedwait(??, ??, ??) + 0x30
kisigwait(??) + 0x34
krtctskRun(??) + 0x68
ktskRun(??) + 0x80
ktRTCThreadMain(??) + 0x1bc
thread_create_handler(0x110cc4f70) + 0xe8
_pthread_body(??) + 0xf0
- One or more of the below error messages may be found in the ASE error log corresponding to the timestamp when the offending DUMP TRANSACTION was started or soon after:
- enp_rsaDecrypt: CCLDecryptionCtx_decrypt failed with error: 0xa010000d
- Error: 11223, Severity: 16, State: 9 Insufficient memory is available to allocate structures needed to access a remote site.
- Error: 12034, Severity: 17, State: 1 Collection of monitoring data for table 'monCachedObject' failed due to insufficient memory. Retry when there is less load, or fewer users, on the server. 1963 rows were not returned because 47112 bytes of memory could not be allocated.
