2946040 - COMMIT TRAN performance is slow - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

On an SAP ASE HADR system with Rep Agent in SYNC mode:

  • COMMIT TRAN spids take a long time to complete and accumulate. They also block other spids over time.

  • DBACockpit -> Wait Events reports a very high number of waits for WaitEventIDs 712 and 713, 

    712 - User task waits on commit for sync rep acknowledgement 
    713 - User task waits on commit for sync rep acknowledgement or timeout

  • The stacktrace for the COMMIT TRAN spid collected via "dbcc stacktrace (spid)" in isql, references the function: ra_ci_sync_sleep()
